Our Approach
We believe behavioral health and addiction treatment should follow clinical need-not a predetermined program, a fixed timeline, or an available bed.
Care should follow the person.
At Prosperous Health, we view addiction and behavioral health conditions through a medical and whole-person lens. Recovery is rarely a single event, and meaningful progress does not always happen on a fixed timeline.
That is why our model begins with a simple principle: the level and type of care should follow clinical need.
Some people require medically monitored withdrawal management or residential treatment. Others may be appropriate for partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient care, outpatient treatment, psychiatric services, medication management, or continued recovery support. As needs change, the treatment plan should be able to change with them.
Our goal is to create continuity across those transitions rather than asking patients and families to start over every time the level of care changes.
Six commitments guide our approach
1. Physician-led
Clinical decisions should be driven by medical necessity, assessment, and the needs of the individual—not by census targets or the availability of a particular bed.
Prosperous Health is built around physician leadership and coordinated medical, psychiatric, clinical, and operational support.
2. Evidence-based
We use established clinical criteria, individualized treatment planning, medication when clinically appropriate, behavioral interventions, and measurement-informed care to guide treatment and transitions.
For substance use treatment, level-of-care decisions are informed by clinical assessment and the appropriate treatment setting.
3. Whole-person
Behavioral health does not exist separately from physical health or everyday life.
Our approach considers clinical recovery, medical and psychiatric needs, physical health, nutrition, sleep, relationships, environment, life skills, and purpose as interconnected parts of the treatment plan.
4. Ethical by design
Patients should be placed according to clinical need.
Prosperous Health is building a care network designed around appropriate placement, responsible transitions, privacy, compliance, and clear accountability between clinical and operational functions.
5. Continuity over isolated episodes
A discharge should not mean the end of support.
When clinically appropriate, we coordinate transitions between levels of care, outpatient services, medical and psychiatric treatment, recovery support, and community resources so that progress made in one setting is not lost during the next transition.
6. Recovery should lead somewhere
Long-term stability involves more than completing treatment.
Education, life skills, physical wellness, family connection, housing stability, vocational preparation, employment support, and community reintegration can all contribute to a stronger foundation for continued recovery.
Four dimensions working together
Rather than treating one problem in isolation, our clinical model brings together four connected areas of care.
Clinical recovery
Individualized treatment planning, individual and group therapy, family involvement when appropriate, co-occurring mental health treatment, relapse-prevention skills, and ongoing assessment.
Medical and psychiatric care
Physician involvement, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, medications for addiction treatment when appropriate, withdrawal monitoring, and coordination of other medical needs.
Physical health and wellness
Movement, fitness, nutrition, hydration, sleep, and healthy routines support both physical recovery and the ability to engage meaningfully in treatment.
Purpose and life beyond treatment
Life skills, education, vocational preparation, community connection, and support for the next stage of recovery help treatment translate into everyday stability.
The right care in the right setting
One of the most important decisions in behavioral health and addiction treatment is determining where care should occur and how intensive it needs to be.
Not everyone needs the same setting.
For appropriately selected, medically stable individuals, outpatient treatment can provide meaningful structure while allowing them to remain connected to home, family, work, and everyday life. Other individuals need the safety and intensity of withdrawal management, residential treatment, or hospital-level care.
Our responsibility is to help identify the appropriate setting and support movement between levels of care as clinical needs change.
A growing continuum of care
Prosperous Health is building the infrastructure to make that philosophy practical across Southern California.
Lake Hughes Recovery by Prosperous Health
Lake Hughes Recovery expands our ability to support individuals who need a higher level of structure and care. The campus includes 104 licensed beds and brings residential treatment, behavioral health services, medical and psychiatric support, wellness programming, case management, and coordinated next-step planning into one recovery environment.
The Valley by Prosperous Health — Agoura Hills
Our new approximately 11,000-square-foot Agoura Hills center expands the outpatient side of the continuum, with PHP, IOP, TMS, outpatient behavioral health, medical and psychiatric services, and additional wellness and supportive programming.
The goal is not simply to add another location. It is to give individuals, families, physicians, hospitals, and referral partners more clinically appropriate options across different levels of care.
The 11,000-square-foot Agoura Hills expansion and PHP, IOP, TMS, and additional outpatient services are documented in your outreach materials.
Prosperous Medical
Through Prosperous Medical, physician and psychiatric services can complement the behavioral health continuum with services such as evaluation, medication management, TMS, and other clinically appropriate medical care.
This creates a more connected model in which behavioral health treatment and medical care can be coordinated rather than operating in separate silos.
Measured, not assumed
Treatment plans should evolve as the person does.
Progress is reviewed against the treatment plan, including symptoms, engagement, functioning, clinical stability, and readiness for the next appropriate level of care. When needs change, the plan should change with them.
One connected network. A more personal path to care.
Prosperous Health is building more than individual treatment programs.
We are building a coordinated behavioral health, addiction treatment, medical, and recovery network designed to give people access to the right care, at the right level, at the right time—with a clearer path forward when their needs change.
For patients and families, that means fewer disconnected transitions.
For physicians, hospitals, health plans, and community partners, it means more options for appropriate placement and continued care.
And for the person receiving treatment, it means care built around the individual rather than asking the individual to fit the system.
